BBC Sport pundit Troy Deeney has named an important Manchester United target for Ruben Amorim in his picks for the Premier League Team of the Week.
Manchester United were in action against Bournemouth and none of the Red Devils players were selected in Troy Deeney’s BBC Sport Team of the Week.
The Red Devils had to come from 1-0 down against 10-man Bournemouth to secure a Premier League point at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Bournemouth inflicted the first blow of the Premier League contest in the first half after Antoine Semenyo broke the deadlock against United in the 23rd minute.
The Cherries were 1-0 up at half time and Andoni Iraola’s men were later placed on the back foot after a controversial sending off for Bournemouth against United.
Bournemouth were reduced to 10 men after Evanilson received a red card and United were to rally back in second-half stoppage time on the weekend.
Rasmus Hojlund cancelled out Antoine Semenyo’s first-half opener in injury time and both United and Bournemouth had to settle for a 1-1 Premier League draw.
United will now turn their attention to their Europa League campaign and the Red Devils will face Athletic Club in the semi-finals on Thursday evening in Spain.

Troy Deeney singles out Man Utd target Matheus Cunha for his BBC Sport Premier League Team of the Week after the Wolves win
Manchester United have been linked with Matheus Cunha and the 25-year-old Wolves ace is believed to be a top target for the Red Devils in the summer window.
Matheus Cunha is under contract with Wolves until 2029 and the Brazilian forward has a £62.5m release clause in his current deal with the Premier League club.
The Wolves star has netted 17 times and registered six assists in 32 matches across all competitions for his current side in the 2024-25 campaign.
Cunha impressed United fans with his performance for Wolves on Saturday after he scored and picked up two assists in the 3-0 win over Leicester City.
Following Cunha’s display at the Molineux on the weekend, Troy Deeney told BBC Sport: “I’m running out of ways to praise him [Cunha].
“He is just at home at Wolves – we know he is leaving but he just looks so comfortable in that side.
“Wolves know the offer is coming and he just wants to sign off on a positive.
“He is known as a bit of a maverick and has a wild side but at the moment he has his head screwed on.”
Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim remains cryptic on the Red Devils’ transfer interest in Wolves ace Matheus Cunha
The Red Devils are believed to be the clear favourites to sign Matheus Cunha and Ruben Amorim refused to speak about United’s interest in the Brazil international.
Speaking ahead of the Bournemouth match (via Goal), the United manager said at his press conference last Friday: “I will not say anything about Matheus, because if I say one time, I will have to say for any situation that is yes or no.
“So, I will not comment about that. It’s hard to predict what is going to happen in the future.”
United languish in 14th place in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have only four league matches remaining in their woeful 2024-25 campaign.
