BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton and BBC pundit Leon Osman dropped their two cents on Manchester United and Manchester City’s Premier League clash on Sunday.
Manchester City took on Manchester United at Old Trafford and the two Manchester sides were unable to find the winner across the 90 minutes on the weekend.
United were presented with opportunities to break the deadlock, but the Red Devils’ attack fell short in the final third at Old Trafford in the Premier League clash.
Both Ruben Amorim’s side and Pep Guardiola’s men were forced to settle for a Premier League point each after United’s 0-0 draw with City on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are 13th in the Premier League table after their last Manchester derby of the 2024-25 season and United have seven league matches remaining.
United are a mammoth 15 points adrift from the Premier League top four and Ruben Amorim’s men face the threat of failing to secure European football for next season.
Amorim’s side are on course for their worst finish in the Premier League since the league’s formation in 1992 and United have only managed 10 league wins so far.
United could still punch their ticket to the Champions League for the 2025-26 campaign if the Red Devils can lift the Europa League trophy this season.

Chris Sutton sends a message to Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim and Man City boss Pep Guardiola after the Manchester derby
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton pulled no punches towards Manchester United and Manchester City after the 0-0 scoreline at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The 52-year-old BBC Sport pundit said that both United manager Ruben Amorim and City head coach Pep Guardiola will “have a lot of work to do” in the summer window.
“One of the dullest Manchester derbies I’ve seen and it tells you where both clubs are at this moment in time,” he explained, as per BBC Sport.
“Both have a lot of work to do in the summer.”
Leon Osman agreed with BBC pundit Chris Sutton on one thing from Man Utd and Man City’s clash at Old Trafford
Former Everton and England midfielder Leon Osman, much like fellow BBC pundit Sutton, was deeply critical of the lacklustre performances from United and City.
“Unfortunately, this will be a derby that will quickly be forgotten,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Neither goalkeeper really had much to do. There was a lot of competitive football in the middle of the pitch but the quality was lacking.
“There wasn’t an awful lot of entertainment.”
United will now visit the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday evening for their crucial first-leg Europa League quarter-final encounter with Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.
Kick-off for the quarter-final clash between United and Lyon in the Europa League in France is slated for 8pm UK time.
