Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo after weeks of speculation.

After a turbulent 2024/25 campaign, Manchester United aim to make drastic improvements this summer.

The Red Devils confirmed the signing of Matheus Cunha at the beginning of the transfer window, with Ruben Amorim eager to add more goals to his team next season.

United managed just 44 goals in 38 Premier League games last term, finishing 15th in the table.

Although United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur means there will be no European football at Old Trafford next season, it is not preventing Ineos from making exciting additions this summer.

Now, finally United have confirmed the deal for Bryan Mbeumo, with the star pictured in a United shirt for the first time.

Manchester United confirm Bryan Mbeumo agreement

United have confirmed a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo, luring the Cameroon international to Manchester once all formalities are completed.

Mbeumo finished the Premier League season with 20 goals and nine assists to his name, earning a reputation as one of the top-flight’s best attackers.

United will pay £65m up front for Mbeumo with an additional £6m in add-ons to win the race for his signature, despite interest from Newcastle and Tottenham.

The French-born Cameroon star joins United in time to join pre-season preparations ahead of the US tour. That gives Amorim time to work with his new signings, giving them extra time to work on the head coach’s preferred style of play.

Bryan Mbeumo gives Man Utd goals, speed and versatility

A striker remains the main focus for United this summer, but Amorim is ensuring that he also adds goals to different positions in his team.

Cunha and Mbeumo are likely to operate the No. 10 roles in Amorim’s system.

Mbeumo – along with Amad Diallo – will become one of United’s quickest players. He can also play on the wing, which means his addition will give Amorim a chance to be more flexible.

Finally, the biggest addition for United will be goals. There will be no excuse if United struggle for goals next season, so long as they find a top new centre-forward to lead the line.
