Rasmus Hojlund has had a new lease on life since joining Napoli from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
Ever since Rasmus Hojlund touched down in Naples, he has gone from zero to hero, making his struggles at Manchester United already a distant memory.
Goals for club and country have seen the perception around the 23-year-old shift already, with Antonio Conte predicting United will regret losing Hojlund.
After a brace for Denmark, Brian Riemer said Hojlund is now bursting with confidence, which is the deciding factor behind his huge improvements this season.
Now, praise has arrived from a Serie A rival.

Gustav Isaksen says Lazio players are shocked by Rasmus Hojlund
The Dane has been so good that even Italian football legend Fabio Capello has lauded Hojlund’s performances, and now so has a rival in the form of Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen.
Isaksen is a Danish international, and Viaplay Sport Denmark has asked him about Hojlund during the international break, more specifically, what his Lazio teammates are saying about the Napoli striker.
“Yes, they always say he’s one of the best, so I think a lot of people have recognised how good he is. They consistently say he’s among the top players, yes,” Isaksen said.
While this is Hojlund’s international teammate saying it, the fact that Serie A players are discussing the Dane in such reverence is a testament to his quality.
Manchester United might have sold Rasmus Hojlund too fast
While it was time for Hojlund to leave United, with Benjamin Sesko already proving to be an upgrade, including an obligation to buy in the deal is aging poorly.
Napoli will purchase Hojlund for just £38m if they qualify for the Champions League, which could end up looking incredibly cheap if Hojlund can score goals at the same rate he has this season for its entirety.
- 6 games
- 4 goals
- 0 assists
In hindsight, United might have been better loaning Hojlund out for the season without a buy obligation or option, as in this form, he could be worth more come summer 2026.
However, it is still a decent payday, which looks quite likely to be incoming, and most importantly, Hojlund has benefited from the move, deserving the success he is getting for his hard work.
