Joshua Zirkzee’s performance vs Everton has all Man Utd fans saying same thing, ‘When Sesko is on the pitch…’

Manchester United fans couldn’t help but single out Joshua Zirkzee after watching what he did in the Red Devils’ encounter with Everton at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

Manchester United won three of their last five matches ahead of Monday’s clash, with Ruben Amorim seeing an improvement from the Red Devils in recent weeks.

But the Red Devils had dropped valuable points in the lead-up to the November international break after their results against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham.

United played out a 2-2 result against Nottingham Forest at City Ground and the Red Devils rescued a point thanks to a stunning late volley from Amad Diallo.

The Forest scoreline was repeated in United’s Premier League encounter with Tottenham, but it would be Matthijs de Ligt who salvaged an injury-time equaliser.

Man Utd fans now react to Joshua Zirkzee’s display at Old Trafford in the Premier League encounter against Everton

Joshua Zirkzee made his first start of the Premier League season after Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim turned to the wantaway Dutch striker for the match.

Amorim was without Benjamin Sesko due to a knee injury and Matheus Cunha was also absent for United, with Joshua Zirkzee finally handed a rare opportunity.

United fans on X were baffled by how the 6ft 4in striker was unable to make an impact with a header against Everton after all the chances he received in the tie.

One United fan said: “Zirkzee is 6’4, but can’t collect a single cross.”

“Joshua Zirkzee win a header challenge (impossible) [sic],” someone else commented.

Another Red Devils supporter argued: “That Zirkzee fella, whenever [a] cross comes in the box, he knows how to dodge it. 10/10 for that.”

A fourth X user tweeted: “Bro, someone explain how Zirkzee is 6 ft [4] and can’t win a header.”

“Why are United swinging crosses in? Ridiculous. They have zero players in the box who can head the ball. Zirkzee is a non-entity,” another wrote.

While an eighth claimed: “Zirkzee actually gets to a header for once (should get to more with that 6ft 4in frame), what a save, though!”
