Manchester United fans are still celebrating a fantastic winner from Matheus Cunha at Arsenal.
Matheus Cunha scored a special goal to secure an important three points for Manchester United away at Arsenal.
Cunha’s 87th minute strike gave United a 3-2 lead, just minutes after a scrappy equaliser from Arsenal.
The style of Cunha’s goal defined the adventure shown by Michael Carrick‘s United, in direct contrast with Arsenal’s cautious set-piece reliant approach.
Cunha’s strike was a remarkable piece of individual brilliance, but there was some great work in the build-up to set up the opportunity.

WHAT A WIN!
Benjamin Sesko praised
Matheus Cunha’s rocket left David Raya with no chance, and the Brazilian deserves all the credit he has been receiving.
In addition to this, MUTV pundit David May moved to point out the work from Benjamin Sesko before the strike.
Sesko managed to control a long punt upfield via his chest, enabling United to retain possession. Kobbie Mainoo was then able to play the ball into space for Cunha to work his magic.
May told MUTV: “It’s a great hit. As soon as that left his right foot it’s in the back of the net.
“Sesko does brilliant, the actual ball from the goal kick, chests it down, it’s a great little bit of interplay.”
Michael Carrick had introduced Sesko as an 81st minute substitute after an injury to Patrick Dorgu.
It was a bold move with United already 2-1 up, making a strong attacking change rather than going more defensive.
Adding more on Cunha’s stunning effort, May commented: “He won’t hit a better strike all season, it’s a phenomenal strike.”
Matheus Cunha is the man of the moment… what should his best position be in United’s starting XI?
Sesko on different trajectory
Manchester United made three big attacking signings in summer 2025, buying Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
Cunha and Mbeumo were proven Premier League performers, while Sesko arrived having to make the leap from the Bundesliga.
And as many would have predicted, it is Sesko who has had the slowest start.
The last two games he has been out of United’s starting line-up and did not even get on against City. This came just after his best stint of form where he scored three goals in the two preceding games.
Sesko’s return to action still proved meaningful despite not scoring, his contribution towards United’s winner has not gone unnoticed.
