Casemiro spent the majority of his career as a Real Madrid player facing off against Lionel Messi’s Barcelona.
Despite winning five Champions League titles with Real Madrid, Casemiro played his best football at Manchester United, according to the Brazilian.
Since making his move to Old Trafford in 2022, Casemiro has become a fan favourite among the United faithful, and Casemiro even broke his scoring record in what is his final season in Manchester.
Casemiro has confirmed he is leaving in the summer when his contract expires, and it seems he could be lining up next to Lionel Messi next season.

Casemiro could join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami
According to reports, Inter Miami are interested in Casemiro, and to add fuel to those reports, Casemiro spent time on holiday in Miami last month.
An MLS move could be on the cards for Casemiro, and a move to Miami means he would be playing alongside Lionel Messi.
Messi recently extended his contract at Miami until 2028, so Casemiro could join up with the Argentine icon after facing him in countless El Clasico showdowns.
Casemiro felt sad he never played with ‘generational’ Lionel Messi
Back in 2023, Casemiro spoke highly of Messi and described him as one of the top three players of the current generation.
“I didn’t get to watch Maradona or Pele play, but I enjoyed watching the three greatest players of my generation: Messi, Cristiano and Neymar,” Casemiro said, as quoted by GeoSuper.
“Messi made an era, and he was always competitive with Barcelona and Argentina, there was no way out.

“Whoever loves football will love Messi. It was a pleasure to see him play, it was a pleasure to play against him. I didn’t have the opportunity to play with him unfortunately.”
However, that sentence may be about to change. If Casemiro does make a move to Miami, he can finally tick off being Messi’s teammate rather than opponent.
