BBC Sport pundit Troy Deeney left Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro out of his Premier League Team of the Week, despite the Manchester United midfield duo impressing against Brentford.
Kobbie Mainoo earned huge praise from Manchester United fans after the 21-year-old England international produced a stunning display on Monday evening.
Much like midfield partner Mainoo, Brazil star Casemiro was a key influence for Man Utd in their 2-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Casemiro was singled out by Man Utd fans as well after the 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder found the back of the net once again for the Red Devils.

Forget Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro, Troy Deeney puts his focus on Man Utd star Harry Maguire after the Brentford match
Harry Maguire returned to the Manchester United starting XI against Brentford after missing the Chelsea and Leeds United matches due to a two-match suspension.
The 33-year-old former Man Utd captain picked up an assist for Casemiro’s first-half opener and Maguire impressed in the heart of the Red Devils’ backline on Monday.
Maguire saw out the full 90 minutes alongside teenager Ayden Heaven at Old Trafford, with United securing all three Premier League points against Brentford.
Despite the performances of Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro, Troy Deeney’s only Man Utd pick for his Premier League Team of the Week picks was Maguire.
“Back from a two-game suspension, just see the difference in Manchester United’s team when Maguire is there,” he told BBC Sport.
“He’s just a solid individual who gets stuff done. He got the assist for the opening goal against Brentford and just brings a level of authority to that United backline.”
Jamie Carragher’s major praise for Harry Maguire’s influence in Man Utd’s 2-1 Premier League win vs Brentford
Michael Carrick received a major boost with the availability of Maguire for Monday’s match amid the injuries and suspensions to other key United first-team players.
Maguire’s return from his Premier League ban was also praised by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher after Man Utd collected three important points at Old Trafford.
“He is a top player,” Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports.
“You see that with what he’s done with England and getting the armband at Manchester United. Then he’s had a difficult spell, as you do as a footballer.
“He’s a top character. It would’ve been very easy to leave United when the supporters were getting on his back.”
United have now moved three points clear of both Liverpool and Aston Villa in the race for the Premier League top four in the 2025-26 campaign.
