Dimitar Berbatov names who was the loudest player he played with at Man Utd

Dimitar Berbatov has named the loudest player in the dressing room from his four seasons at Manchester United.

In September 2008, Dimitar Berbatov left Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester United in a £30.75 million transfer, after Sir Alex Ferguson famously hijacked Man City’s attempts to sign the Bulgarian striker.

Berbatov made 149 appearances for United, scoring 56 goals and registering 27 assists. He also won two Premier League titles, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the League Cup during his time at Old Trafford.

Nowadays, Berbatov regularly comments on United when interviewed. When he speaks, it’s clear he wants what’s best for the club.

Dimitar Berbatov reflects on Gary Neville being outspoken

It’s no secret that Gary Neville likes to keep busy.

The former United captain has his hand in many pies. From his involvement in a media empire to property, Neville has been asked countless times where he sees himself as a politician.

With that in mind, perhaps it’s unsurprising that Berbatov named Neville as the ‘loudest and most outspoken’ player he shared the dressing room with at United.

Speaking on Konstantin Valkov’s Office podcast, Berbatov opened up on how Neville was the opposite of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

“The quiet one was Ryan Giggs, even quieter was Paul Scholes, and the loudest most outspoken one was Gary Neville,” Berbatov said.

“They were the people who had been there the longest. They spent their whole careers there.”

“Later on there was Wayne Rooney, Ronaldo, Rio, and at the back there was Van der Sar, who was also one of the most experienced players in the team.

“So there are different levels of hierarchy in every team, and you try to observe, adapt, understand all the personalities, analyse them if you have the chance and interest to do so, and be ready for the moment when you have to prove that you deserve to be among that group of people.

“Sometimes you show ego, other times you put it away and simply listen, learn–knowing when to ask questions and when just to observe.”

Dimitar Berbatov’s best moments at Man Utd

After an iconic arrival at Old Trafford, Berbatov had many highlights in a red shirt.

They included his remarkable spin assist against West Ham in his debut season, as well as the hat-trick against Liverpool in 2010.

The hat-trick against Liverpool saw Berbatov become the first United player in 64 years to score a hat-trick versus Liverpool.

Berbatov’s stunning overhead kick is one of the greatest goals scored in the tie.

The former Bulgaria international also scored five goals in one game against Blackburn Rovers, with United winning 7-1.
