Fabrizio Romano: £70m Man Utd target 'really convinced he'll leave' is 'considering options'

Fabrizio Romano has said that Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo is ‘considering options’ amid interest from top Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Ecuadorian has had a phenomenal season with the Seagulls. He’s been instrumental in the midfield and has been integral to the Seasiders’ successes.

Due to this, he’s been valued at around £70 million and has attracted the interest of some of the best clubs in the Premier League.

It’ll be difficult to prise him away from Brighton given the recent sale of Alexis MacAllister to Liverpool, but that doesn’t mean a plethora of clubs are going to try.

Moises Caicedo is considering his options over a summer move

In Fabrizio Romano’s latest video on his YouTube channel, he discusses the future of United’s target – Moises Caicedo.

“I wanted to clarify something about Moises Caicedo,” Romano began. “We heard that Caicedo already agreed personal terms with a club in the last few days… no – he has not agreed terms with anyone.

“Caicedo is considering options. Chelsea are 100 in the race. Arsenal’s interest remains, alongside Manchester United.”

Romano then went on to clarify the cost of the 21-year-old and banished rumours that he could be upwards of £100m.

“I heard something about a £100m valuation for Caicedo – no. The sources I spoke to is that Caicedo is going to be worth maybe 70, 80. No more than this.”

He also added that Caicedo is actually very convinced he is not going to be a Brighton player come the start of the 2023/24 season.

“There is a pact between Caicedo and Roberto De Zerbi. He will be able to leave the club this summer in case there is an important proposal.

“De Zerbi promised that to the player in January when they turned down proposals from Arsenal. This remains valid. Caicedo is really convinced he’ll leave Brighton this summer.”

He’s an undeniable talent and would fit in nicely at Old Trafford. Let’s see where he ends up.
