Manchester United linked midfielder Gabri Veiga stepped up on the final day of the La Liga season for Celta Vigo.
Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga showed why Manchester United have been linked to him with a vital brace for his side to save them from relegation.
Spanish newspaper AS reported earlier this year that United have been watching Veiga’s breakthrough season at Celta Vigo.
Last night he struck twice to fire Vigo to a 2-1 victory over Barcelona to secure their La Liga spot for next season.

Gabri Veiga is a Mason Mount alternative
Manchester United’s priority in midfield appears to be Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
The Times reports talks have been opened between United and Chelsea for Mount, however, there is no agreement on price between the clubs.
While a move looks likely, United will have a list of alternatives, and Gabri Veiga deserves to be high on it.
Veiga, 21, has now scored 11 goals for Celta Vigo from midfield this season. He has a release clause of 30 million Euros (£26m) AS report, around half what it would cost to sign Mount.
There is a case to be made, that in a summer when United may need to be sensible with spending, that Veiga would be a smarter investment than Mount.
His goals last night demonstrated his character, an ability to step up when his side needed him the most, having come into the final day only one point clear of the relegation zone.
Whether he is Manchester United bound or not, Veiga is a player we can expect to hear a lot about in the coming years, with a Spain call-up expected to soon come his way.
