Manchester United must take advantage of Arda Guler’s cheap release clause at Fenerbahce, or they will forever regret it.
Arda is a player synonymous with players of the Football Manager franchise. An 18-year-old Turkish midfielder playing beyond his years for Fenerbahce in Super Lig.
Guler has already made 51 first-team appearances for his club, notching up nine goals and 12 assists to date. Along with this he has already made four appearances for Turkey.
He even opened his national team goal count, scoring a wonderful curled effort against Wales this week.
Guler has attracted interest from across the continent, with clubs like Newcastle United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG all rumoured to hold an interest.
It had also been reported by Turkish outlet Fanatik that the club are weighing up a move for Guler. The report claims City have watched the youngster, with scouts believing he has “superstar potential.”
Fabrizio Romano last week disclosed the youngsters release clause to be what many fans have described as a ‘bargain’. Romano tweeted, “Understand Turkish gem Arda Güler will be now available for just €17.5m (£15million) fee net after taxes/solidarity”.
The renowned journalist himself couldn’t believe how cheap the coveted midfielder would be, “yes, just €17.5m for one of the biggest talents in Europe”.
For a price like this, it would be ludicrous to miss out on signing such a talent, especially when all our main rivals are interested.
Why United should sign Arda Guler
A deal could be justified simply as it is better than letting him join a rival. Guler has excelled at every level and is crying out for a big move, Manchester United should be circling.
The youngster only broke through this season but already looks like a seasoned pro. His close control and eye for a pass has led to comparisons with the great Lionel Messi.
Eagled eyed United fans have also suggested Guler may be a Red Devils fan. This due to a video vice-captain Bruno Fernandes sent to the youngster before last season.
Bruno said, “Hi Arda Guler. I just want to wish you all the best for this season.”
He continued, “I hope you enjoy it, I wish you all the best for this season. I hope you can get many, many games and trophies with that top coach that you have this season and enjoy.”
Guler is a player likely to sky rocket in value and potential in the coming years, so therefore United must act like a smart club, and sign him – as well as Mason Mount.
