Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana earned a much-needed clean sheet away at Burnley.
It is safe to say Manchester United’s midweek game did not go to plan for Andre Onana. The goalkeeper conceded four goals, including a brutal error for his first.
He fronted up after the game and admitted his mistake, and responded in the best way possible away at Burnley.
Onana kept a second clean sheet of the season in a strong defensive performance as Manchester United won 1-0 away at Burnley.

Andre Onana praised
Pundits queued up to criticise Andre Onana after his errors v Bayern. It was totally predictable, and part and parcel of the territory of being a Manhester United player.
Going away to Burnley was not the easiest bounce-back tie for Onana. The crowd were on his back, and as predicted, the home side targeted him, keen to shoot at goal and always a threat from set pieces.
Onana coped with it all well, and came through with credit, a first clean sheet since the opening day of the season.
His performance was praised by MUTV pundit Fraizer Campbell, who believes Onana can be a long term solution at the club.
Campbell told the channel: “He’s been steady. He’s really good with the ball at his feet.
“He’s got the quality to overcome that [criticism] and he could be a good goalkeeper for the next 10 years.”
Manchester United hope he will be long-term option
Andre Onana cost £43 million, which could rise to £47 million with add-ons. United have high hopes for the former Ajax and Inter Milan stopper.
Onana is 27 and is just getting started at Old Trafford. If he does last a decade at United then the fee paid will end up looking very good value.
Given the way goalkeepers have longer shelf lives than most players, Onana has a chance to be a long term number one, or 24, per his shirt number.
But in the context of this season, and one step at a time, he just needs to start getting a few more clean sheets on the board, and this weekend was a positive step forward.
