Report: Manchester United talent now frustrated under Ten Hag amid Martin Odegaard comparison

Manchester United talent Isak Hansen-Aaroen is growing frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities and could leave Old Trafford.

United pounced to sign Isak Hansen-Aaroen back in 2020, raiding Tromso in his native Norway.

Hansen-Aaroen made the move to Old Trafford at just 16 but had already made seven first-team appearances for Tromso.

A regular for Norway at youth level, Hansen-Aaroen arrived as something of a wonderkid – but we are yet to see him in first-team action.

Now 19, Hansen-Aaroen was hoping to break through this season but is still waiting to make his first senior appearance of the campaign.

The Manchester Evening News now report that Hansen-Aaroen is growing frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities.

It’s claimed that the teenager was promised first-team chances in pre-season but has yet to receive them under Erik ten Hag.

Hansen-Aaroen was called into first-team training on multiple occasions last week, raising hopes of him featuring in Monday’s FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic.

The Norwegian wasn’t involved at all though and Hansen-Aaroen is now increasingly likely to leave United at the end of the season.

Hansen-Aaroen’s contract comes to an end this summer and unless United can convince him that first-team chances will come, he may be on his way out.

United are though reluctant to sell Hansen-Aaroen this month and would demand two major clauses – a hefty sell-on fee and a friendly buy-back clause.

Where could Hansen-Aaroen end up?

Hansen-Aaroen is understood to be attracting interest from Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Napoli, with all three clubs ready to pounce if United can’t secure a new deal with the teenager.

There are no doubt many other clubs looking into Hansen-Aaroen’s situation ahead of a possible deal.

Hailed as ‘artistic’ and compared to Martin Odegaard by Ruben Yttegard Jenssen, Hansen-Aaroen clearly has major talent and potential for the future.

We expected Ten Hag to utilise some young players against Wigan, but it was largely a first-team starting lineup and there was no room for Hansen-Aaroen on the bench.

That kind of snub may be the final straw for Hansen-Aaroen and it would now be more of a surprise to see him stay than move on.
