The 2-1 defeat to West Ham has piled more pressure onto Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
It has been more of the same from Manchester United since the end of the October international break.
Erik ten Hag saved his job earlier this month after back-to-back draws against Porto and Aston Villa. Despite a lengthy meeting in London, the club’s hierarchy kept faith with the Dutchman.
There were reasons to be positive about Ten Hag staying, but even supporters will begin to turn on him if he cannot turn things around quickly.
The 2-1 win against Brentford is now United’s only win in their last eight games. Ten Hag’s days are numbered unless he can pick up wins, and quickly.
Ineos refused to sack Erik ten Hag twice
It was no secret that Ineos were window shopping for a new manager in the summer. They held interviews with multiple candidates and Thomas Tuchel almost became United manager.
However, the newly-appointed hierarchy stuck with Ten Hag. Despite leading United to their worst-ever Premier League finish, lifting the FA Cup saved his job.
At the time, Ten Hag still had the backing of the majority of United’s fanbase and Ineos’ decision proved popular.
Ten Hag was handed a one-year contract extension, but United have started the season terribly and it was pointed out that Ineos may have made a mistake by not sacking him when they had the chance in the summer.
However, when Ineos were presented with another chance to sack Ten Hag in the October international break, they again turned it down and kept faith that he could turn things around.
But there has to be a point when enough is enough. Many United fans are already at that point or are quickly approaching it as the poor results continue.
Man United fans are running out of patience
Ineos have already turned down two chances to sack Ten Hag, and pressure will continue to build after the defeat to West Ham.

The next international break is not until November 10 – there are still four games left to play until then, including in the League Cup and the Europa League.
United’s hierarchy faces another crunch decision on whether or not to sack Ten Hag before that international break, and they run the risk of upsetting fans if they get it wrong.
