Manchester United missed out on signing Geovany Quenda but could still raid the Portuguese market to boost Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Manchester United have committed to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system and must recruit for that approach this summer.
United signed left wing back Patrick Dorgu in January, and the Dane has shown promising signs in the early weeks of his Premier League career.
United now need to find another option on the right side, even though Diogo Dalot continues to make an impact for Amorim.
Amorim was eyeing a raid on former club Sporting but wonderkid Geovany Quenda decided to sign for Chelsea instead.
Quenda is off the table now, but United may still bring in a talent from the Portuguese market this summer.

Manchester United want Roger Fernandes
United In Focus exclusively reported in March that United were eyeing Braga’s Roger Fernandes in case Quenda didn’t join.
Sure enough, Quenda won’t be signing for United, and the attention is turning to Fernandes.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claim that United see Fernandes as an ‘immense talent’ with potential similar to that of Quenda.
Fernandes has a €40million (£33million) release clause in his contract, but Braga are willing to sell for around €30million (£25million) this summer.
That would be a similar outlay to Dorgu, with United potentially seeing the pair as the wing backs for the future under Amorim.
United must be wary, though, as O Jogo claim that a raft of other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Fernandes.
Manchester City, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford and Fulham are all named as being keen on the 19-year-old.
United will hope to win this race and not be beaten like in the Quenda race, but may need to get the ball rolling on a potential deal.

Roger Fernandes positions this season
Braga talent Fernandes recently won an award in Portugal, having been named the Young Player of the Month for February.
The teenager – who hails from Guinea Bissau – is out injured right now but United’s interest has not wavered.
Fernandes will be viewed as a wing back by United, just as Quenda was before his move to Chelsea.
Braga have mostly used Fernandes as a winger, though, with Transfermarkt noting that he has played 23 games as a right winger and one game as a left winger.
Fernandes has played 11 games as a right wing back this season, as well as operating in a left back role on one occasion.
Amorim may well have seen enough to believe that Fernandes can perform as a right wing back on a regular basis, but some patience may be needed – just as the case has been with Dorgu.
