Andre Onana proves to Man Utd fans what his best skill is in perfect challenge, Ruben Amorim must see more of it

Andre Onana has highlighted one of the impressive qualities that he possesses in his role and the Manchester United star must show more of it under Ruben Amorim.

The 29-year-old Manchester United No 1 has faced a tough second season at Old Trafford, despite starting the 2024-25 campaign in better-than-expected form.

Andre Onana had stepped under former United and Ajax manager Erik ten Hag this season before the Dutchman was sacked as head coach last October.

The Cameroonian shot-stopper’s form has taken a major hit since Ruben Amorim’s arrival from Sporting CP and Onana has faced a wave of criticism at United.

Onana retained his place as United No 1 under Ruben Amorim, but the ex-Ajax and Inter Milan star’s lack of consistency has cast doubts over his Old Trafford future.

The Red Devils star struggled in his first season at Old Trafford after Onana was reunited with Erik ten Hag in 2023 following United’s signing of him from Inter Milan.

Andre Onana highlights his strengths to Man Utd fans off the pitch and the player must show the same confidence in matches

Andre Onana, who is under contract with Manchester United until 2028, has played in 45 matches across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.

TikToker ‘MoAliFC,’ real name Mo Ali Heydarpour, linked up with the United No 1 and Onana took part in a series of training drills and showed his best strength.

Ruben Amorim has used Altay Bayindir as a deputy to Onana, but the United manager has stuck with the Cameroon international as his No 1 for this season.

Onana was incredibly impressive with his reflexes, including where he had to beat away tennis balls while Mo Ali stood behind him and dropped them in front of him.

The Cameroon shot-stopper correctly predicted the direction from which all nine of the tennis balls would land and Onana showed superb awareness in the challenge.

One challenge included saving the ball against the wall for his hand reaction speed, while another was swapping hands to the correct colours while catching the ball.

Andre Onana can still redeem his Man Utd season under Ruben Amorim with the Europa League test

Onana was left red-faced in the first leg of United’s Europa League clash with Lyon in the quarter-finals after his two howlers led to a 2-2 draw in France.

However, the Red Devils punched their ticket to the semi-finals of the Europa League after United beat Lyon in a sensational 5-4 comeback win at Old Trafford.

United will now meet Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals of the Europa League and the first-leg clash will be at the San Mames Stadium in Spain on 1st April.

Onana could redeem his season if he steps up his form and produces on the big stage for United during the remainder of their crucial Europa League campaign.
