Sir Jim Ratcliffe arrived at Carrington in a helicopter for a series of meetings, including with Ruben Amorim, who has been subjected to criticism amid a poor start to the season.
Manchester United have four points from four Premier League games. To make matters worse, the Red Devils have been eliminated from the Carabao Cup after losing to League Two side Grimsby Town in the second round.
This has led to mounting pressure for Ruben Amorim, who has been tasked with turning United around after Ineos decided to sack Erik ten Hag last season. It is no secret that the former Sporting CP manager has struggled to get results at Old Trafford.
Although United fans remain supportive of Amorim and the team, many have been left baffled by the coach’s determination to stick to his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
United are in action again on Saturday when Chelsea visit Old Trafford in the Premier League. It’s a fixture that marks the return of Alejandro Garnacho following his summer transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe flies in for Ruben Amorim talks
Ineos are still backing Amorim to turn things around.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his trusted Ineos associates decided that Amorim was the man to take the team forward, so they are never going to fold their hands this early in the season.
According to The Athletic, Ratcliffe flew into Carrington training ground in a helicopter on Thursday for a series of meetings.
These meetings, including one with Amorim, were scheduled for some time, but one of the topics discussed was the team’s current form.
Ratcliffe likely demanded an improvement in results, but Amorim will be doing the same with the players.
Otherwise, there is something very wrong.
What has Ratcliffe said publicly about Amorim?
Ratcliffe has always stressed that Amorim would get the support he needs at United.
Ineos invested significantly during the summer to ensure Amorim had a better squad for the new season.
Speaking in March, amid more poor results, Ratcliffe expressed his belief in Amorim during an interview with The Times.
He said: “Yeah, I do, honestly. I really, really like Ruben. He’s a very thoughtful guy. Every time I go to the training ground, I speak to Ruben. I sit down and have a cup of coffee with him and tell him where it’s going wrong, and he tells me to f*** off. I like him.”
