Manchester United were linked with a move for Jonathan David for years before he signed for Juventus in the summer.
It was a busy summer for Manchester United as Ineos set out to back Ruben Amorim in the transfer market by ensuring he would have better players to pick from this season.
The number one area of concern for Amorim was the attacking department.
Rasmus Hojlund struggled to lead the line in his first two years at Old Trafford, scoring a total of 26 goals in 95 appearances. Amorim also made it clear that he didn’t want to work with Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Marcus Rashford – and all of those players left on permanent and temporary deals.
United signed Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to revamp their attack.
Only time will tell if Amorim and Ineos have made the right decisions.

Luca Toni rates Rasmus Hojlund higher than Jonathan David
Former Lille striker Jonathan David was a long-term target for United.
The Red Devils watched the Canada international for years before opting against signing him as a free agent when his Lille contract expired in the summer.
Juventus signed David on a Bosman, and he has scored one goal in five matches for the Old Lady.
Former Italy striker and World Cup winner Luca Toni claims United have got rid of a forward player who is better than David, despite considering a move for the 25-year-old.
In a video challenge with Amazon Prime Italy, Toni picked Hojlund over David.
Hojlund joined Napoli on loan with an obligation included in the deal, and he has managed to score one goal in his first three games for the Serie A champions.
Toni claims that Hojlund is already a better striker than David, but we’ll soon see who scores more goals in the Serie A later on in the season.
Hojlund is expected to be a success at Napoli this season.
Big game for Hojlund this weekend
With four wins from as many games, Antonio Conte’s Napoli side are on top of the Italian league.
Hojlund is set to start on Sunday when they take on third-placed AC Milan in what will be the biggest Serie A fixture of the weekend.
The United loanee will be aiming to add to his goal-scoring account since moving to Italy.
A few days later, they face Sporting CP in the Champions League.
