Forget Bryan Mbeumo, Man Utd fans all thinking ‘unsung hero’ in Brighton win deserves ‘his flowers’ for display

Bryan Mbeumo appeared on the radar of Manchester United fans alongside one underrated star in the Red Devils’ 4-2 result against Premier League side Brighton at Old Trafford.

Casemiro received the ball from Bruno Fernandes and the Manchester United midfielder laid off his pass to fellow Brazilian Matheus Cunha outside of the box.

Matheus Cunha proceeded to fire a stunning low shot into the far right corner of the net, with Bart Verbruggen unable to deny United’s first-half opener against Brighton.

Casemiro then saw his long-range strike hit the back of the net in the first half after Bart Verbruggen was left wrong-footed due to a massive deflection off of Yasin Ayari.

United outclassed Brighton in the Premier League clash and the Red Devils went 3-0 up in the second half after Bryan Mbeumo added his name to the scoresheet.

Benjamin Sesko played the ball to fellow summer signing Bryan Mbeumo, who fired his low effort through the legs of Lewis Dunk and into the back of Verbruggen’s net.

Man Utd fans react to what Benjamin Sesko showed at Old Trafford during the Red Devils’ Premier League win vs Brighton

Danny Welbeck came back to haunt Manchester United in the second half after the Brighton striker looped the ball over the free-kick wall and netted for his side.

Charalampos Kostoula scored for Brighton to reduce the deficit in injury time, but Bryan Mbeumo netted once again and sealed United’s 4-2 win on Saturday.

United fans took to social media and posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, their feelings about the underrated performance of Red Devils striker Benjamin Sesko.

A Red Devils supporter tweeted: “Sesko didn’t score, but he was really a handful for Brighton anyway; won lots of headers and made runs that unsettled them. He’s looking better every time he plays, just needs to start bagging a little more regularly.”

“Sesko’s technical ability is insane,” another posted.

While a third United fan added: “Sesko was very good today. Created good chances in transition and got the assist for the third goal.”

And a fourth said: “Cunha and Mbeumo are class, Sesko is a massive upgrade, all three are fantastic on the ball, but what they do off the ball is even better. Huge upgrade on the attack from last season.”

“Sesko is an unsung hero; what an assist [for the] Mbuemo goal,” someone else argued.

A sixth wrote: “Sesko is going to click too very soon, don’t worry. Very soon.”

Another X user commented: “Sesko is a proper target man, too.”

“No-one giving Sesko his flowers for that assist is shameful,” an eighth tweeted.

Benjamin Sesko’s return to the Man Utd starting XI for the Brighton match does deserve more praise

Sesko scored in back-to-back Premier League matches against Brentford and Sunderland before he was dropped to the bench for United’s win over Liverpool.

However, the 22-year-old Slovenian forward started the Brighton match and Sesko’s overall contribution was strong, despite failing to score for the Red Devils.

Sesko produced a superb assist for fellow summer signing Mbeumo in the second half and the Slovenian international remained an active threat in the match.

The United striker made way in the 82nd minute for Joshua Zirkzee, but Sesko’s performance showed he is gaining more and more confidence in a Red Devils shirt.
