Man United fans got first glimpse of Matheus Cunha trademark, he does it more than any other player

Matheus Cunha finally scored his first goal for Manchester United in the victory over Brighton at Old Trafford.

There were goals galore at Old Trafford as Manchester United beat Brighton 4-2, and it all began with Matheus Cunha finding the bottom corner of the net.

Cunha’s celebrations said it all, with the Brazilian kissing the United badge after scoring his first goal for the club.

Just months into his spell at the club, Cunha feels at ‘home’ at Old Trafford and United’s new No.10 is quickly becoming a fan favourite for his all-action performances.

Matheus Cunha thrives outside the box

Cunha was desperate to score for United after watching summer signings Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko enjoy getting on the scoresheet. Against Brighton, he finally opened his goalscoring account.

Assisted by Casemiro, Cunha received the ball outside the box, shifted it onto his right foot and curled it past Bart Verbruggen in goal.

It is something United fans should get used to seeing…

As per Tribuna, Cunha’s strike means he has now scored seven goals from outside the box in the Premier League since the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

Incredibly, that is the most of any player in the top flight, which shows just how lethal Cunha is from range.

Matheus Cunha can build on first Man United goal

While his first goal came against Brighton, Cunha has been sensational for United ever since joining from Wolves.

Cunha was magnificent against Liverpool when played centrally, and he flaunted his versatility by playing just as well on the left against Brighton.

Amorim now has four top-class forwards to choose from each week, but Cunha is quickly becoming undroppable.

United have won three on the bounce and Cunha is in great form. With Nottingham Forest and Tottenham up next, he can hope to add to his goal tally for the Red Devils sooner rather than later.
