Ruben Amorim’s longest winning run as Manchester United head coach came to an end on Saturday after being held to a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Manchester United took the lead in the first half after Casemiro headed home a corner kick from Bruno Fernandes.
At half-time, holding a one-goal advantage, it felt like it would be a straightforward evening for the Red Devils. That wasn’t the case as United gave away two goals in the first five minutes of the second half, with Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona taking advantage of shoddy defending.
Although United dropped two points against Forest, Amad Diallo’s equaliser came with relief as he volleyed the ball into the net from outside the box.

Ruben Amorim blames loss of control for Man Utd draw
Amorim believes United dropped two points away at Forest.
The United head coach blamed a loss of control for five minutes for drawing 2-2 at the City Ground.
A collapse after half-time gave Forest a shock lead after trailing 1-0 at the break.
Amorim believes that United still showed signs of improvement because they would have struggled more earlier in the season.
The biggest disappointment for Amorim was the level of energy because it wasn’t the same as seen in previous weeks.
Amorim also stressed that it feels like two points dropped rather than one gained following Amad’s late equaliser.
“I think we lost control of the game for five minutes and we paid the price,” Amorim told MUTV. “I felt that the level of energy was not the same compared to the last game.
“Sometimes when you play away, you can feel that. We need to manage that to put everything there. When I say everything, they gave everything and you could see it in the game but the small details… the energy was not the same and we have to work on that.
“We were in control of the game. In the Premier League, if you disconnect for five minutes you can change the result.
“But comparing the recent past that we had, some games where this big bad moments, we struggled so much more than today. We managed to control our emotions to put the ball on the ground and try to push the opponent to the final third.
“We managed to score and we had an opportunity at the end, but we lost two points. That is the feeling but we have the next week to work and to try to get these points in another stadium.”
Ruben Amorim’s 10th draw as Man Utd manager
Amorim marked his first anniversary as United head coach today.
Sadly, he was unable to mark it with his 23rd win since arriving at Old Trafford.
Instead, it was Amorim’s 10th draw after 53 games in charge.
United will be trying to get back to winning ways next weekend when they travel to Tottenham.
