One Manchester United loanee has put in a statement performance for his club, which sends a clear message to Ruben Amorim.
While Manchester United don’t play until Sunday this weekend, with a trip to Villa Park set, there were some loanees playing for their clubs.
Dan Gore and Jack Moorhouse were two players to feature as they continued to be regular starters for Rotherham and Leyton Orient, respectively.
WHICH Manchester United loanee have you been most impressed by this season and why?🔥⚽️
However, once again, the star of the loan performances was a player who has every reason to try and send a message to Ruben Amorim.

Harry Amass shines defensively for Sheffield Wednesday
Last week, Amorim called out Harry Amass, labelling him as ‘struggling’ at Sheffield Wednesday, which couldn’t be further from the truth, despite the club being relegation-bound.
Ruben Amorim believes Harry Amass and Chido Obi would not make an impact in the Man Utd first team 🤔
What do you think of Amorim's comments? Is he making a good point, or is he losing it?
This week, Amorim suggested Amass was entitled in regard to the Instagram response he sent to the original comments. But now, Amass has done something much better for sending a message to his manager, that being on the pitch.
Amass played all 90 minutes in a 3-1 Sheffield Wednesday defeat to Ipswich Town in which he more than did his part defensively.
- 16 defensive contributions
- 6 tackles
- 4 clearances
- 6 interceptions
- 4 recoveries
- 9 duels won
Amass’ physicality was letting him down a few years back, but now he is holding his own in one of the world’s toughest leagues.
Harry Amass’ future at Manchester United looks uncertain
While Amass has been top quality this season for Wednesday and also impressed at times for United last season, the chances of him becoming regular under Amorim are slim.
Amass, being just 5ft 9in, likely rules out a move to left centre-back, while there is clearly a desire for the wing-backs to be more offensive than the 18-year-old is capable of.
However, Amorim used more of a 4-2-3-1 against Bournemouth at times, and for this, Amass could be perfect at left-back.
It remains uncertain what the end result will be of Amass’ loan this season. This is because a dozen clubs are looking to take Amass for the second half of the season, with his Wednesday loan expiring in January.
Amass is top quality, and United really need to think about his development over the next six to 18 months, as he cannot slip through the cracks.
