Luke Shaw and Bruno Fernandes might have echoed the sentiments of Manchester United fans with their subtle digs at Alejandro Garnacho after the Chelsea match.
Alejandro Garnacho was put in the firing line after the 21-year-old Spanish-born winger faced his former side Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Argentina international failed to make a meaningful impact in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Man Utd, but he was ‘beaten with a stick’ on social media afterwards.
Luke Shaw shared a photo of him brushing aside Garnacho in a celebratory Instagram post and Bruno Fernandes responded with a ‘that’s a violation’ GIF.

Luke Shaw and Bruno Fernandes’ subtle digs on Alejandro Garnacho are nowhere near as hidden as how Man Utd fans feel
Luke Shaw and Bruno Fernandes’ social media interaction made the rounds and it was felt that the pair were showing their ‘true’ feelings around Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho left Old Trafford last summer after his falling out with Ruben Amorim and the former United youth academy prospect lost a lot of fanfare last season.
United In Focus’ TalkingPoints platform only reinforced the deeply divided sentiments of United fans over Garnacho’s legacy with Red Devils supporters.
“What [has] happened to him? [He] doesn’t look happy,” one Man Utd fan said.
Someone else commented: “Reading some of Garnacho’s comments, he seems to be regretting his own behaviour. Attitude, unfortunately, for him, it doesn’t look like it’s turned out as he hoped it would [at this moment] at Chelsea.”
While a third wrote: “Amorim was c—, but Garnacho has to own his own bad attitude. Good riddance.”
“Amorin ruined a brilliant player; we’d have won the Europa [League] with him on from the start,” another argued.
And a fifth Red Devils supporter suggested: “I think Garnacho thought it was going to [be too] easy for him, but he needs to grow up.”
“Only regrets now,” a sixth TalkingPoints user posted.
Somebody else claimed: “Sorry, he is gone. With the right lesson[s] on attitude and better coaching, he would be good.”
An eighth added: “Good riddance, completely wrong attitude will waste his talent.”
Man Utd fans’ powerful feelings on Alejandro Garnacho sum up the mixed legacy he leaves behind at Old Trafford
Shaw and Fernandes’ digs on Garnacho feel apt in the slippery slope that the former Man Utd winger’s career has taken since his big-money move to Chelsea in 2025.
Once a darling of the Old Trafford faithful, the kindness of Man Utd fans has extinguished for Garnacho in large swathes after his behaviour last season.
Former United manager Ruben Amorim might still be seen as culpable by some Red Devils supporters when it comes to the handling of Garnacho at Old Trafford.
However, Garnacho did himself no favours with his attitude during his United spell or his immediate post-Red Devils comments after Chelsea signed him for £40m.
Man Utd’s 1-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend and the post-match reaction towards him should be the biggest eye-opener to Garnacho over his legacy now.
