When the 2025/26 season ended, Manchester United had 16 players out on loan. A further five players had been recalled at the midway point.
Extra fixtures in 2026/27 means that United might not need quite as many to head out on loan – but we still expect the figure to reach double-digits.

Andre Onana
Goalkeeper Andre Onana has returned to Trabzonspor on loan. Onana spent 2025/26 at the Turkish Super Lig side.
United received a small loan fee at around £1 million, while Trabzonspor are also making a contribution towards his wages.
Solomon Honor
Young goalkeeper Solomon Honor has joined National League side Southport on a season-long loan deal.
Honor, 20, signed for United earlier in 2026 from Blackburn’s under-21 team. Now he is going out to gain further experience.
Sekou Kone
Mali youth international Sekou Kone has joined Lausanne on loan for the 2026/27 season.
Kone spent the second half of last season on loan at Lausanne, one of Ineos’ partner clubs.
Altay Bayindir
Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has left Manchester United to sign with Celta Vigo for the upcoming season.
Celta Vigo are covering Bayindir’s wages in full, and there is a buy option included with the loan.
Elyh Harrison
Young goalkeeper Elyh Harrison has signed on loan for Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton.
He has previously had spells at Chester and Shrewsbury Town.
Jacob Devaney
Midfield talent Jacob Devaney has signed for Scottish Premiership club Hibernian.
Hibernian have an ‘option to buy‘ included as part of the deal.
Ethan Wheatley
Striker Ethan Wheatley has signed on loan for the season with Championship side Lincoln City.
The move is Wheatley’s fourth career loan move, following three previous stints in League One.
Jayce Fitzgerald
Midfield talent Jayce Fitzgerald has signed a loan deal with Rotherham United for the season.
Fitzgerald made the United squad under Ruud van Nistelrooy and will benefit from his first ever loan move.
Dan Gore
Dan Gore has agreed a loan deal with Luton Town. He is under contract at United for a further year.
This is Gore’s fourth loan move after two at Rotherham and one at Port Vale.
Jack Moorhouse
Under-21 midfielder Jack Moorhouse has signed on loan for the season with Scottish side Dundee.
Moorhouse spent the first half of last season on loan at Leyton Orient.
Chido Obi
Chido Obi has completed his loan move to Eredivisie side Willem II.
This is the first loan move of the young striker’s career. He made his first team debut for United at 17, but has found opportunities limited since.
