Manchester United suffer predictable injury blow as Anthony Martial injury news breaks

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been ruled out of the FA Cup final.

A club statement read: “Anthony Martial is out of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester City due to injury.

“The France international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford.

“Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.”

Anthony Martial season over

Anthony Martial‘s season is now over in the same depressing way it started, with an injury.

The forward has scored only nine goals in all competitions and will now miss his second Wembley final of the season, having watched the Carabao Cup final from the stands.

This is further evidence Manchester United cannot rely on Martial and he should be moved on this summer, one way or another.

The striker department is a big weakness for United, and major investment is expected this summer.

The FA Cup final takes place at 3pm on Saturday with United set to face Manchester City.

United’s options to replace Martial include loanee Wout Weghorst, or to utilise Marcus Rashford as a striker.

This second option will increase the spotlight on Antony to get fit, while Alejandro Garnacho could also have moved closer to a start.

As for Martial, we are all just fed up, frankly.
