BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has praised Rasmus Hojlund after the Manchester United striker’s stunning performance against Luton Town on Sunday at Kenilworth Road.
Manchester United secured all three Premier League points against a resilient Luton Town side thanks to a stunning brace from Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund, who arrived at Old Trafford last summer, fired United into the lead in the first minute at Kenilworth Road before completing his brace six minutes later.
Carlton Morris pulled one back for Luton Town in the 14th minute, but Rob Edwards’ men were unable to snatch a point against United in the Premier League clash.
Hojlund has been widely hailed for his performance at Kenilworth Road, with the striker scoring an impressive eight times in his last eight matches for United.
The 21-year-old Denmark international endured a tough start to life in the Premier League after he failed to score in his first 14 league appearances.
Hojlund has since turned things around and entered a stunning run of form, with the United striker scoring in each of his last six Premier League appearances.

Crooks’ praise for Man Utd striker Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund’s impressive performance against Luton Town earned the Manchester United star a place in Garth Crooks’ Team of the Week.
Crooks said that the Denmark striker had “come through a very difficult period” at Old Trafford and has now “found his wings and is starting to fly.”
The BBC Sport pundit praised Hojlund by claiming that he has become a “new hero” for United fans and even compared him with legendary ex-player Frank Stapleton.
“Hojlund’s first goal in the 2-1 victory at Luton smacked of a player bang in form and his second was just stunning improvisation,” Crooks said in his BBC Sport column.
“Luton players were left waving their hands in the air appealing to the referee that Hojlund had somehow used his arms and not his chest to direct the ball into the net but that was nothing more than sheer desperation and they knew it.
“Manchester United left Kenilworth Road having done enough but should have won this game by a street.
“A run of seven goals in six games suggests Hojlund has found his wings and is starting to fly.
“The youngster also looks like he’s made of tough stuff. He’s come through a very difficult period at the club and it must have been painful.
“However, it looks as if the United fans might have a new hero, and the club a new Frank Stapleton!”
Hojlund on Man Utd’s top-four challenge
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match (via Manchester United’s official website), Hojlund said that United secured a “massive” result in their challenge for top four.
“This was massive today, closing an even closer gap to Spurs who lost some points as well,” he explained.
“We need to keep pushing. It’s our target to get the Champions League football and go as far as we can in the FA Cup as well.
“We need to remember that it’s very important for us to win trophies, so we will do everything possible to go and win everything.”
