Chido Obi-Martin now pictured in Man Utd kit for the first time, hint made over where he will debut

Manchester United managed to steal the prized asset of Arsenal’s academy over the summer, with Chido Obi-Martin considered a generational talent.

Last week saw Chido Obi-Martin finally confirm his switch to Old Trafford in an Instagram post – this coming months after Manchester United were reportedly favourites to sign the Dane.

Chido Obi-Martin is among the best 16-year-old forwards currently in world football and he will now be calling Carrington home.

Despite being just 17, Obi-Martin is considered ready to make a first-team impact and there is plenty of hype around him.

Obi-Martin has become one of United’s best youth players – with only Shea Lacey challenging him in terms of ultimate potential.

Now, the newest Red Devil addition has been pictured in his new club colours.

Obi-Martin is a very exciting addition to the ranks at Old Trafford and a testament to Ineos’ desire to sign wonderkid talents.

Upon the deal being concluded two weeks ago, Obi-Martin was pictured with Eric Cantona, potentially an endorsement from the United legend.

Now, Obi-Martin has been photographed in his new red colours – as shared by United on the club website.

This image comes at long last after months of waiting for United to wrap up this deal and he looks the part in red.

United have also dropped a hint over where Obi-Martin will be fitting in at United initially – as he has been listed in the U18s squad list.

This suggests we will see the prolific striker sharing minutes with the red-hot Gabriele Biancheri for Adam Lawrence’s side – as opposed to the U21 level.

Adam Lawrence will be spoiled for options in his U18 attack

Lawrence’s options in attack this season are simply unfair to the rest of the U18 Premier League – adding to the team which has already won five from five while scoring 22 and conceding just one.

United boast attacking talents like Amir Ibragimov, Bendito Mantato, Biancheri and Lacey all bang in form for the U18s.

Manchester United U18 combined goals/assists 24/25

Obi-Martin we imagine will shoot right up this list with goals.

But it will be interesting to see how Lawrence manages to fit all these attacking talents into the same starting line-up.

Due to this competition for places, United should be using the loan market to find temporary exits for players who are ready for senior football – in order to avoid clogging up the development pipeline.
