Ruben Amorim is set to become the new Manchester United manager and he will likely want to make his own stamp on the squad.
The 39-year-old immediately became the hot favourite to take control at Old Trafford after Erik ten Hag was sacked on Monday morning.
Ineos identified four similar manager candidates but they poured all their effort into getting a deal for Ruben Amorim over the line.
Amorim verbally agreed to join United on Monday and Sporting Lisbon released a statement on Tuesday confirming that United plan to pay his release clause and appoint him as manager
If the final steps go smoothly, United hope that Amorim will be in charge against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Man United paid out £23m to make manager swap
It has been a chaotic last 24 hours for United, with Ineos moving extremely quickly in their pursuit of a new manager.
The 2-1 defeat to West Ham was the final straw for Ten Hag, and United chiefs unanimously decided now was the right time to sack him, despite the hefty cost.
The cost of sacking Ten Hag is reported to be more than £15m according to BBC Sport with the one-year extension handed to the Dutchman in the summer adding millions to the cost.
There has been a lot of confusion around Amorim’s release clause at Sporting, but has been confirmed that United will pay €10million (£8.3million) to release him from his current deal.
Combined, that means United have spent a total of £23m – and potentially more – to change their manager.
Man United budget takes hit after Ruben Amorim appointment
Ineos will need to back Amorim as he attempts to implement his ‘spectacular’ style of play at Old Trafford.
The first chance to provide Amorim with reinforcements will be the January transfer window, but United look set to be hamstrung by Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules.
According to The Guardian, the new Manchester United manager is expected to have a “limited budget” to strengthen the squad in January.
United had a net spend of £200m in the summer as Ineos brought in five major signings to support Ten Hag, but it seems that investment has hindered any January plans.
