Harry Maguire was once again Manchester United’s saviour last weekend against Liverpool, but he might not start when Brighton comes to Old Trafford.
There are few words to describe the magnificent turnaround Harry Maguire has managed at Manchester United over the past few years.
Maguire was the most hated player in football just a few years ago, yet now he is one of the most beloved players at the club.
Last season saw Maguire score quite a few winners, and against Liverpool was the most recent. Following this goal, Rio Ferdinand claims Maguire has reached legend status at United, which might not be completely true just yet.
However, he is a key player, but that doesn’t mean he will be in the starting line-up against Brighton.

Harry Maguire should be replaced with Leny Yoro against Brighton
The way Maguire performed against Liverpool means it wouldn’t be at all shocking to see Ruben Amorim pick him again. However, with Amorim suggesting Maguire is an injury doubt.
Therefore, Maguire shouldn’t be guaranteed a start against Brighton, and Leny Yoro is potentially better suited to this game anyway.

Who should Ruben Amorim start vs Brighton?
Unlike at Anfield, United will be looking to press high and dominate against Brighton, which would make Yoro’s pace a vital tool in combating the counter-attack threat Brighton’s attack has.
Roy Keane was worried about Maguire’s pace against Liverpool, but United played a more pragmatic game, which suited the Englishman.
Yoro would be the better choice, allowing Matthijs de Ligt to slot into the middle of the back three, which again is more mobility than Maguire.
Leny Yoro started in Manchester United’s only clean sheet this season
Despite starting the season really well, a disappointing performance from Yoro against Manchester City has seen him start just one of the following four.
This start came against Sunderland, and Yoro was excellent in this game, both on and off the ball, with his speed helping keep a high United line safe from the Black Cats.
Yoro has the potential to be world-class, and he needs more minutes than the five he got last weekend to do this. At 19, he is already one of the most promising defenders in world football, so Amorim should play him from the start.
The speed that Yoro has could be a match-winner against Brighton, and there is little point in risking Maguire when his minutes should be managed anyway.
So, despite Maguire being a hero for United, Saturday should be Yoro’s day.
