What Man Utd fans said about Matheus Cunha during the Red Devils’ Premier League match against West Ham

Matheus Cunha made his immediate return to the Manchester United XI under Ruben Amorim after overcoming his recent injury setback for the Red Devils.

The 26-year-old Brazil international missed the Red Devils’ last two matches and United fans were convinced that Mason Mount should have started ahead of him.

“At the moment, Mount is more of a threat in front of [the] goal than Cunha,” one X user wrote.

Matheus Cunha has been compared to Dwight Yorke – Do you see it?

“Cunha’s got that ability, we were very fortunate to play with Yorkie, he could drop back, play in behind, almost like a 10 role.

“Cunha’s ability in terms of his shooting from outside the box, he’s got the pass, he can run in behind. It’s good to see him back.”

Another United fan posted: “Should have started Mount from the start, in my opinion, someone that can release the ball quicker. Cunha love[s] holding and moving with the ball, and [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka won’t allow that.”

“Cunha not in this [match] at all since he just came back from injury, Amorim should have started with Mount,” someone else commented.

While a fourth added: “Cunha has been so ineffective in this match and that makes you wonder why the coach started him straight back from injury when Mount is literally there.”

“Mount is very unlucky not to start. Would’ve had him start and ease Cunha in off the bench,” a fifth Red Devils supporter posted.
