Manchester United are looking to make it four wins on the bounce with Michael Carrick as head coach when they take on Tottenham.
Manchester United have been given a new lease of life under Michael Carrick over the past few weeks, and they are looking to stay in the Premier League’s top four to secure a place in the Champions League.
As United’s 3-2 win over Fulham extended Carrick’s run to three wins since returning to Old Trafford, the 44-year-old matched a feat his predecessor Ruben Amorim managed only once over the course of 14 months in the dugout.
Having failed to win a single Premier League match in 2026, Tottenham did manage to take a point from their meeting with Man City last weekend. That means Thomas Frank’s side are winless in six league matches.
Carrick will be eager to continue his perfect start when United take on his former club Tottenham in the early kick-off on Saturday.

United’s last win over Tottenham came when Ten Hag and Antonio Conte were in the opposing dugouts on October 19, 2022. The Red Devils won 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.
However, the headlines after the match were dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo, despite not making it onto the pitch as a substitute.
After a goalless first half, Fred opened the scoring before Fernandes doubled the lead. Ten Hag made changes from the bench during the game, but overlooked Ronaldo.
This left Ronaldo unhappy and he stormed down the tunnel by the Stretford End as the game went into stoppage time.
United’s win at Old Trafford saw Ten Hag extend his unbeaten run to three games in the Premier League.
A win for United on Saturday will see Carrick achieve something Amorim was unable to do at United… beat Tottenham.
