Diogo Dalot has insisted that no other Manchester United first-team player can rival Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko when it comes to speed on the pitch.
Benjamin Sesko missed the entirety of Manchester United’s pre-season tour after a shin problem from the 2025-26 campaign kept him sidelined in the summer.
However, the 23-year-old Slovenian forward made a return for the Red Devils in the early stages of the 2026-27 campaign and has featured in the opening two matches.
Michael Carrick has turned to Sesko as a second-half substitute for the Hull City and Ipswich Town encounters as part of the Man Utd striker’s phased return to action.

Speaking to Viaplay, Diogo Dalot did not think twice to pick out Benjamin Sesko as the fastest player from the Manchester United first-team squad at Old Trafford.
However, FotMob has compiled data from the first two Premier League matches of the season and Sesko has been the Red Devils’ fourth fastest player so far.
Sesko has clocked in 33.2 km/h as his top speed from the Hull City and Ipswich Town fixtures, which edges out fifth-place Bruno Fernandes’ 32.4 km/h speed.
However, Marcus Rashford is third in the list and Bryan Mbeumo is second after the Man Utd stars have respectively hit 33.3 km/h and 33.6 km/h speeds so far.
The most eye-catching detail in FotMob’s data is that Luke Shaw has put up United’s top speed for any player under Michael Carrick in the 2026-27 campaign.
Luke Shaw, who has received criticism for his defending this season, has managed to clock a speed of 34.4 km/h during his first two Premier League matches.

Sesko has covered 5.8 km during his two cameo appearances for United and the Red Devils striker has completed 10 sprints amid his return to full fitness.
“Ben’s improving; he’s been improving his fitness all the time,” Carrick said at his pre-match press conference on Friday, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“He had some time off, which was important – that we give him the time to make sure he was right moving forward, with no setbacks.
“You can never guarantee that, but it gives Ben the chance to stay fit for as long as possible. He made big strides last season and he’s still young and still adapting and learning and developing here.
“There’s loads more to come from Ben, so it’s just being patient with him really.
“I’m really happy with how he’s come back, so looking forward to seeing him on the pitch a little bit more.”
Sesko is now in his second season at Old Trafford after he arrived under the reign of former Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim during the 2025 summer transfer window.
