Roberto Carlos comparisons

Inter Milan legend Giuseppe Bergomi last week compared Dimarco to World Cup winner Roberto Carlos.

He was quoted by FCInter1908: “In his movements and shooting, Dimarco recalls Roberto Carlos. I wish Federico to improve in the defensive phase as Roberto Carlos improved. The Brazilian had better quality and better base speed, but we’re really talking about the top.”

Tipped for the top

Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani picked him out for praise via Sempre Inter.

He said in 2021: “He’s a modern full-back, who plays with quality and has a great left foot. He’s a player to keep an eye on for the Italian national team too.”

Former France international Youri Djorkaeff is a fan too. He told TMW:  “I like Dimarco. [With Barella] they are young and are the future of Inter and the national team.”

Alessandro Recenti, Federico Dimarco’s former manager at Sion has spoken highly of the defender.

He told TMW: “He is an extraordinary boy. I was sure he could follow this path both from a human and a professional point of view.”

Reaction to Manchester United rumours

Recenti spoke yesterday to Interista about the Federico Dimarco to Manchester United transfer speculation.

He said: “I think it will depend on the size of the offer: it’s clear that if an offer of 60-70 million from Manchester United were to arrive, as we read now, then I think Inter would think about it.

“It’s also clear that at 25 he has plenty of time to do well with the Nerazzurri colors on that side and be a point of reference both in Serie A and in Europe.”
